Hi,
Tokyo is a beautiful city and there is lots of good place to visit. You can go to the top of Tokyo tower to get a bird’s eye view of Tokyo. There is plenty of shopping. I suggest you try Japanese foods. Look into capsule hotel maybe they are unique. Go to ginger if you are interested in religion and tradition - have green tea ceremony.
Thanks
________________
food in miami

Posted to: 3 days in Tokyo - recommendations? Show Thread | Post Reply

Backpacking Southeast Asia

My boyfriend and I are planning on traveling to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand for the entire month of February. I want to know if a month is enough time to see some of each country. We aren't entirely set yet on where all we are going to go for sure because I have also been looking at Burma and Laos as well. So I guess my question is which places would be most worth seeing in the amount of time I will be there. I'm not too big on touristic areas, I kind of like the experience the life and culture in the places I travel to. I'm interested in what people think of these places! Thanks!

_______________
Violet junk|Bai Tu Long cruise|Laos travel

Posted to: Backpacking Southeast Asia Show Thread | Post Reply

Hi ppl,

I would like to find out how much time is required to go to Taj and the Fort?

Any recommendations for any other interesting place to visit in the area?

While in Agra, anyone has any recommended driver that can bring me around? It would be great if the person is the driver + guide.

For the train going back to Delhi, the express train seems to be leaving quite late.

Alternatively, between Chattisgarh Exp and Punjab Mail, which is a better choice?

_______________
Violet junk|Bai Tu Long cruise|Laos travel

Posted to: 1 day in Agra Show Thread | Post Reply

From Siem Reap to Laos border

Hello, I will be flying into Siem Reap on Dec. 23. My plan is to go to Battambang, Koh Kong, Tatai, Kampot, maybe Kep, PP, Sen Monorom, Kratie to Laos border. Can someone tell me how far, approximately, the bus rides are between these places, what the costs are for the rides and if/what there is to see other then the "usual" tourist places? I have about three weeks before getting to the border and am trying to figure out how long I could stay at the individual places, considering time I'll need for travel. Thank you all for your feedback.

______________

Vietnam travel packages|Mekong delta tours|Dragon Pearl cruise

Posted to: From Siem Reap to Laos border Show Thread | Post Reply

Lake house adventure 5 days 4 nights

Season: The trip can be completed the year round. The best period is from November to February, where it's dry and the temperature at its lowest. From March to May the temperature may be higher. Between May and November, Thailand enters it’s rainy season, where tropical showers during the day time are not uncommon.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Bangkok - Khao Laem Lake.
The trip begins from your hotel in Bangkok at 8 AM in the morning, where you are taken by car to

the northern bus terminal, from where the bus leaves to Lake Khao Laem. The tour starts when everybody is on board, and the dinner is prepared while you sailing against the first nights fix point (D).

Day 2: Water Fall and Coconut Island.
After breakfast we take the kayaks to the mainland, and after a short walk we will reach the Dai Chong Thong waterfall. It is possible to take a swim or just enjoy the sight (from March to May it’s dry season which causes low water level, so during this period the activity is not guaranteed). In the afternoon we will visit the Coconut Island with a population of just ten people. A nice and cosy
island with (of cause!) a lot of coconut trees but also with cacao and other kinds of trees. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Elephant riding, lunch at the Karen village.
We start the day in kayak, visiting one of many small bays and explore five small caves, contending a lot of bats, and maybe see one the local fishermen in action. At midday you will be picked up by a long tail boat, going up the nearby river. When you reach the Karen village at the river, the elephant riding will start, and they will take you up the river through the jungle. After an hour you will be set off to do the bamboo rafting back to the village.
(B, L, D).
Day 4: Enjoy the day swimming, fishing or relax in the sun
Today you will reach the final destination of the trip - Sangklaburi. In the morning there will be time to go kayaking, fishing, swimming or what you prefer, before we set off. Back on the mainland you can see the longest teakwood bridges in Thailand or you can take a private tour to the Three Pagodas Pass, which is located on the border between Thailand and Burma. In Sangklaburi you will be checked in at the nice guesthouse just at the river bank.
(B, L)

Day 5: Sangklaburi-Bangkok
After your stay in the relaxing village of Sangklaburi, we will be on our way back to Bangkok The trip is about 7 hours, but the first part is very beautiful through the jungle area. You will end at the northern bus terminal, and the transport to NRGH or else where is on your own.

Choice: If you like, you have a chance to extend the trip with one or more days in Sangklaburi village.

Sleeping:

3 nights on the houseboat in twin cabins and 1 night at the guest house.
Houseboat facilities:
• Shaded lower deck eating area, where cold beverages are served.
• Free kayaks to use whenever you want
• Deck chairs, comfortable armchairs and Hammocks for snoozing
• A 1.80 meter high tower for the adventurous.
• Free coffee/tea and fruit
• Books, games and fishing equipment free of use
• Life jackets.

Remember to bring the following:
• Light and comfortable clothes for the warm climate
• Light cotton clothes with long sleeves (to protect against mosquitoes)
• A warm jumper for the cooler evenings
• Swimsuit and towel.
• Sandals, and trekking shoes.
• Sun cap, sun glasses and sunscreen.

Itinerary
Tour starts at Museum of Cham Sculpture with more than 300 artifacts dating from the 4th to the 14th century. Attend a seminar on Cham sculpture, presented by Cham culture experts in Danang. Then we visit Tra Kieu in an inscription carved on a stele of Champa Kingdom, formerly called Simhapura. Simhapura is called "The City of Lions".
